Anybody else feel like they were Andre? I can try different message sanity overwhelming and depressing? I finally figured out and product works and I love. Like really. No it doesn't mean my laundry is always done occasionally get overwhelmed but then I remember wait, I have a system I just need to stick to it!

Let's start with what I used to do it wasn't work I used to try to hold if I can just do one or two loads a day I can stay on top of it and one of two things would happen. Either they were constantly loads left in the washer that I had to rewash or loads left in the dryer they got wrinkly and never put away. I would stay on top of the towels but the socks and undies were lacking or I would stay on top of the socks and undies but everybody was out of jeans. You know what I mean? For life will get busy I would skip a couple days and then I would have a mountain of laundry that can never get caught up! That plan obviously didn't work.

My other plan was all in one day whenever I got a chance but I had no rhyme or reason to it or no set laundry day the same thing would happen I would wait way too long people would be out of socks and undies I would get overwhelmed knowing I needed to get to it someday but didn't know when that would be. Here's what I figured out the only thing that works for me and lots of people is to have a set laundry day every single week.

and then to have a back up plan on what to do if something happened and I couldn't actually get to it on laundry day! If you like step-by-step instructions like I do then I encourage you to check out the book how to manage your home without losing your mind. It has literally changed my life! I'm not perfect yet but man oh man have things improved! So here's my new laundry plan and then I'll follow that up with my favorite laundry products! Pro tip they are non-toxic 🙌🏻

Step one: pick a laundry day that will work for you! Which day of the week are you home most of the day that you know you can get all of the laundry done sorted washed dried hung up folded put away all of it! I know it sounds overwhelming but trust the process.

Step two: let your family know what day is laundry day! Laundry day at my house is Mondays! Everyone knows on Sunday night they bring all of the dirty laundry to the living room and we sort it all and they take their laundry hampers empty back to their bedroom.

Step three I go ahead and start my first load on Sunday night to get that one out of the way. Then on Monday morning I put that load in the dryer and put the next one in immediately! As the dryer finishes you either hang up or fold and go ahead and put it away. Repeat repeat repeat till all of the laundry is done!

Now depending on how bad your laundry situation is right now the first week or two are going to be much more to do and much more overwhelming. Week three like the book says is win the magic happens. Trust the process! Maybe even just go ahead and plan to set a day and a half or two days aside the first week to get it all done.

Because, if your laundry situation is really backed up you're going to have more than one weeks of laundry to do on week one. But when you get it all done in the baskets have been empty since laundry day when you get back around next weeks laundry day there will only be one weeks of clothes in the basket!! Yay! On week to do your whole routine again. Put it on your calendars put it in your phone that day is laundry day. Get it all done. If you know that laundry day isn't gonna work either plan to do it the day before or the day after or split it into two days if you don't have a whole day to set aside but get it done.

OK here is why week three is when the magic happens. On week three if you've really been able to get all of it done the previous two weeks you should 100% only have one weeks worth of laundry. On top of that, after two weeks of it you should start to have a routine down where it's starting to feel normal. And on top of that you'll start to see which clothes your family consistently wears and which ones have been shoved in the back of the drawers for a year either because they don't actually fit or they just flat out don't like them and won't wear them. As you notice that there's things that don't fit people aren't wearing or they don't like go ahead and toss them in the donate pile! The less that's in your house the less that ends up on the floor and corners under beds or in the laundry basket even though it's still clean but it just didn't fit!

If you're a person that has a laundry system down and you're able to keep your laundry under control and done then this obviously isn't for you. If you were a person who the one or two loads a day works for you then this obviously isn't for you either. I am a mom of three young kiddos. My husband and I work out regularly. My kids get dirty and muddy in the backyard. I have children who have potty accidents. We have a lot of dirty clothes and I was drowning and needed help. Aside from having very small and old laundry machines so it takes a lot longer than normal this is what works for me and I believe will be what many of you need to help with the laundry over mom!

Now let's move on to my favorite laundry products! I've been on a journey to switch out toxic products from my home that are causing health problems asthma eczema all the yuck and I've found my favorites! That doesn't mean they'll be yours but these are mine.

The first toxic product to leave my home years ago were dryer sheets. It didn't take much research for me to easily toss them and not look back. I got rid of them and replace them with 100% wool dryer balls! Not only do the dryer balls help keep your clothes nice and soft, they lessen drying time which saves time and electricity! These are my favorite. Mostly because I know they are ethically sourced and 100% wool! I've accidentally bought a cheap knock off brand before and found out there was a rubber ball in the middle and the "wool" shredded and shed all over my clothes! No thank you. https://faithprindle.norwex.biz/en_US/customer/shop/product-detail/357021

Next step is laundry detergent. Did you know that most laundry detergent you find in the stores is full of fillers? So you pay more because you feel like you're getting a lot more laundry detergent because it's a great big box or bottle right? But really you're paying for fillers so you have to use more product but it's doing the same job as a concentrate in addition to that they're full of harsh chemicals and fragrances that are harming your skin and lungs. I have come to like and love the ease of earth breeze laundry strips! So those are a big go to for me. I also like that they come in small cardboard packaging so there's not a bunch of plastic waste! My main go to though is Norwex ultra power plus laundry detergent free of dyes, fragrances, fillers, and lots of other yucky stuff. It's septic safe. And you really only need to use a half to a fourth of the recommended amount because our water in the US is better quality than lots of others globally! https://faithprindle.norwex.biz/en_US/customer/shop/product-detail/1125

Yes, I am a consultant of Norwex. But honestly these really are the best quality products and last longer than others of anything I found!

I love to hear how your laundry system you use is working for you and what you do!
